Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown reiterated that he won't attend the Cleveland Browns' upcoming Ring of Honor ceremony, making those intentions clear in a letter addressed to team president Mike Holmgren.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Brown acknowledged that he had no formal contract with the Browns in his former executive advisor role to owner Randy Lerner.

Lerner had been broken because it included a clause that he was only to report to the reclusive owner.
Brown alleged that Holmgren offered to pay him $100,000, according to the former NFL star, act as a "a greeter … a mascot … a person that would represent special events by his physical presence. All of those things that you offered me would be controlled by you."

announced the plans for the Ring of Honor and expressed hope that Brown would attend.

It seems highly unlikely that they'll try to talk Brown into attending again.
