CALGARY, Alberta (AP)—Former Edmonton Oilers captain Jason Smith faces charges of domestic assault and confinement.

Thursday that Smith was arrested after police were called to his southwest Calgary home Aug. 10.
The 36-year-old Smith is charged with assaulting his wife and daughter and faces another count of confining his wife.

he have no contact with his wife, two daughters or his wife’s parents. He was granted one exception to send his daughter a birthday card, according to court documents.
