Practice routine changed Sunday

After playing a rare Friday night game the Jayhawks got to rest on Saturday. While Sunday’s are usually a light practice in terms of going physical this past Sunday was a new experience.
The team went over a few details on Saturday, but when they showed up for practice on Sunday they got a change of pace thrown their way.
“We came in Saturday and just lifted and watched film,” said wide receiver nfl throwback jerseys
Bradley McDougald. “On Sunday we had a tougher practice than we normally do. It wasn’t because we lost or anything but coach wanted to use that day to get better.”
The normal schedule calls for a lighter practice on Sunday in terms of how physical the play is. Then the team doesn’t practice on Monday and returns to the field on Tuesday. The practices on Tuesday are a day when the pads pop a little harder.
Defensive end Kevin Young said going with the pads on Sunday gave them extra work they needed to get in.
“Normal Sundays we just come out in helmets,” Young said. “This Colts jersey
past Sunday we came out in top shells like a normal week practice. It was a good practice so we can get the work in and took the opportunity to get better. I think that practice helped us to really get out there and go at it.”
One player that might not have felt the effects on the change on Sunday is Alonso Rojas. Being the punter he doesn’t take on the hitting the other players do but he liked the idea as well.
“Coach wants to prepare for us for a game situation and that’s the best way to possibly prepare to go out there and go 100 percent,” Rojas said. “I know some guys were nicked and bruised and I can’t relate to that because I don’t get hit as much, but it’s always good to get out and there and get your pads out.”

go like normal Sunday routine. They were never told why there was a change but Rojas believes Turner Gill and the staff know what they are doing.
“There’s a reason for it and we had a good practice,” Rojas said. “Coach is a great coach, he’s surrounded by great coaches and we do everything for a reason. The coaches will always try to put us in a good situation.”
